City Tour Puno

The City Tour in Puno is given in a private service, where we will visit places of historical, cultural and natural interest in the city.

Arco Deustua: It is located on a promontory 2 blocks from the main street of Puno, it is a stone arch, erected in tribute to the Peruvian Heroes of Junín and Ayacucho, from this place you can see the city and the entire bay . Around the Arch, there are two small crescent-shaped small squares (Glorietas), adorned with stone pillars. Its construction dates back to 1847, the year in which the Prefect of Puno, Don Alejandro Deustua built it and in whose memory it bears his name.

The Pino Park: It is a traditional Plaza, where the Temple of San Juan is also located, where the Virgin of Candelaria, Patroness of the city, is venerated. Whose festivity is celebrated on February 2, in the middle is the monument to Dr. Manuel Pino, Hero of the Pacific War. Guarding its base are the faces of four Punean colonels who also participated in that conflict. This monument was erected by the people of Puno in 1901.

Lima Street: This pedestrian street is the main one in all of Puno, on the floor you can see the different typical dances of Puno; We can also find all the necessary services such as restaurants, bars, souvenirs, money exchange offices, accommodation, banks, etc.

Plaza de Armas: It was built on the old construction Supay Wasi (Devil's House), in the middle we can find it very picturesque.

The Cathedral: Considered as the most complete expression of baroque architecture with Andean elements that give it a mestizo style, Construction, despite having begun in the 17th century, was only completed on May 25, 1757 (100 years later), under the direction of the Peruvian alarif Simón de Asto.

Carlos Dreyer Museum: Located in the Plaza de Armas, the museum is a colonial house built by the German painter Carlos Dreyer, currently it belongs to the Municipality of Puno and where archaeological, lithic, weaving and goldsmithing exhibits of the Pucara, Tiahuanaco cultures are exhibited and Inca, in addition to paintings by renowned painters. Being the most important attraction the samples called "GOLD OF SILLUSTANI". Consisting of 1,280 pieces, of which 501 are gold, weighing 3,782 K., all of Inca origin, were probably part of the trousseau of some important person buried in the Chullpa del Lagarto in SILLUSTANI.

Yavari Naval Museum: Anchored in the Bay of Puno, President Ramón Castilla, ordered its construction in 1861 in England, in June 1862 its 1833 pieces were shipped in England and transported to the port of Arica and then by rail to Tacna. To then be transported on the back of a mule, their parts were finally delivered in 1868, they were assembled and put into operation at Christmas 1870.

View Point Puma Uta: Located in the Alta area of ​​Puno, at the north entrance of the city, this viewpoint has the figure of a Puma as its main monument, which seems to watch over and protect the city of Puno and Lake Titicaca. From where we can appreciate the beauty of a city on the shores of the highest navigable lake in the world (3810 masl).
